Every S-Quad detector lands on one of these. The base holds the loop terminals and the programmable input and output connection, and the head engages into it with a twist; a metal back box behind it is a requirement, not a recommendation.
Supplied five to a pack. Terminals take 0.6 mm2 to 2 mm2 conductors, so ordinary 1.5 mm2 fire-rated loop cable lands directly, and earth continuity must run right through rather than break at each device.

Compatibility
Common to the whole S-Quad line, sensors and sounders alike, and to the Self-Test heads as well. On its own it suits detection-only devices such as S4-711 or S4-720. Any sounder or visual alarm variant needs an IP21 plate underneath as a condition of its approval, so add S4-705 or order the pre-packed S4-701 instead. The black-bodied heads want S4BK-700.
Installation
Screw the base to a metal back box, land incoming and outgoing loop conductors keeping screen and earth continuous, and bring out the input and output pair if a remote indicator or interface is used. Head on last, dust cover off.
