Most of the fire alarm systems we design, install and commission are Gent. We are a Gent by Honeywell System Integrator and Platinum Partner, and we also supply the range to other installers and building owners: Vigilon Plus and Nano panels, S-Quad detectors, interfaces, and spares for older panels. About Gent
Gent is a Honeywell fire-safety brand. The current range runs from the Nano panel through the networked Vigilon Plus platform to the conventional Xenex panels, the S-Quad detector family and BS 8629 evacuation alert equipment. You will find it in hospitals, schools and offices across the UK.
We fit it on our own jobs and supply it to other installers, including the urgent order when a panel fails on a maintenance contract. Stock items go out the same working day by Royal Mail 24. If the part number on an old device does not match anything in the current catalogue, call us with it and we will look it up.
Addressable or conventional Gent systems?
On an addressable Gent system, Nano or Vigilon Plus, every device has its own address on the loop, so the panel reports “smoke detector, room 214” rather than “zone 3”. That matters in larger buildings, anywhere people sleep, and on sites where a fault has to be found quickly. Sounders and visual alarms run on the same loop wiring, which keeps the installation tidy and makes later changes simpler.
A conventional Gent system, the Xenex panel in 2, 4 and 8 zone versions, splits the building into zones of hard-wired circuits. For a small unit, a workshop or a simple retrofit it is easy to install, and any engineer can work on it. Which one is right depends on the fire strategy and the building, so tell us about the site and we will suggest one. Gent detectors, sounders and devices.
The main device family is S-Quad: multi-sensor detectors with optical smoke and heat sensing, and versions with a voice sounder and a visual alarm built in, on one base and one loop address. The S4 Self Test range adds remote functional testing. Browse the full range of Gent S4 smoke and heat detectors. Legacy Gent parts and ongoing support.
Many older Gent panels are still in service. The legacy support range covers spares and accessories for panels that are no longer made, with legacy field devices alongside. If you look after an older system, call with the panel model and we will tell you what is still available, what can replace it, and when it is time to plan an upgrade. Is Gent owned by Honeywell?
Gent is a Honeywell fire-safety brand, sold as Gent by Honeywell. It sits alongside other Honeywell brands such as Morley-IAS and Xtralis.
What is the difference between Gent Vigilon and Nano?
Loops and networking. Vigilon Plus panels run 1 to 6 addressable loops, depending on the model, and can be networked with other panels and repeat panels where the fire strategy needs them. The Nano 24 runs a single loop and stands alone, with no networking or repeaters, which suits smaller buildings where one loop covers everything. Both use the same Gent addressable device families.
Do you supply Gent equipment to trade and end users?
Both. Other fire alarm companies buy parts from us, and so do facilities teams, building owners and contractors who look after their own buildings. It is the same stock and the same technical help on the phone.
