Overview

The fullest of the three tone sensor sounders: forward and backward scatter, a thermal element, an EN 54-3 sounder. Channels 1, 2, 4 and 5 should all show — the fourth backward scatter, the fifth supervision.

Specify it where a sounding position must also cope with steam or dust: the ratio between two optical readings gives the discrimination algorithm something to work from, which a plain optical sounder has no way to do.

Compatibility

Takes the ingress arrangement every sounding S-Quad needs: S4-701 as a kit, or S4-705 retrofitted over an existing S4-700. Where voice rather than tone is wanted from the same sensing set, its counterpart is S4-711-V.

Installation

Tone outputs follow the panel's alarm bands in eight time slots across a two-second cycle, staying synchronised with 34000 sounders and S3 devices elsewhere on the system.
