Overview

Marked O2H/V/RVAD/HP, this is the fully populated red variant of the 711 head: dual-angle optical and heat detection, voice and tone output, and an EN 54-23 red visual alarm, all answering to a single address.

Channels 1, 2, 4 and 5 report to the panel, channel 5 being the fault path covering sounder, strobe and speech hardware alike. Strobe and sounder are driven separately, so a light-only condition can be configured on what is otherwise a full voice sounder.

Specifications from 4188-1073 issue 3.

Compatibility

Needs a base and an IP21 plate underneath before it complies: S4-701 supplies both, or pair an S4-700 with S4-705 plates bought by the pack. Reaching the High or Medium settings quoted above depends on an Enhanced Loop Card at the Vigilon Plus panel, and a Nano system holds every S-Quad VAD at Low regardless. The silent equivalent of this part is S4-711-VAD-HPR; the black-bodied one is S4BK-711-V-VAD-HPR.

Installation

Loop cable lands on the base terminals, the IP21 plate goes underneath, the head engages last. Volume, tone, speech message and strobe intensity are then set from the panel, so nothing needs adjusting in the ceiling.
