Electrically this is the S4-711-V-VAD-HPR. What changes is the moulding: black, given in Gent's data as the natural colour of the ABS rather than a paint finish, for ceilings where a white disc is unwanted.
Colour carries one consequence beyond appearance: the S-Quad semi-flush fixing kit is published for white bodies only, so a black head is surface-mounted and the ceiling detail must allow for it. Detection, speech, tones and strobe match the white part.

Compatibility
Order the black mounting hardware to match: S4BK-700 base, which comes singly rather than in a pack of five, with a S4BK-705 plate beneath it, the plate being obligatory under any visual alarm. There is no black equivalent of the combined S4-701 kit. Enhanced Loop Card conditions on the High and Medium settings are the same as for the white S4-711-V-VAD-HPR. A quieter black option in the same family is S4BK-711-V, which drops the strobe.
One documentary caveat: the installation manual prints this part's label marking with a W where the description on the same row says red. We have left the marking off this page pending confirmation from Gent.
Installation
Fit black plate and black base together before the head goes up, or a white edge shows at the ceiling line. Wiring, addressing and commissioning follow the white variant.
