Overview

The S4T-711 is the dual-angle head of the Gent S-Quad Self-Test range, and the sensing block most of the range is built on. It uses three analogue channels — 1 for forward-scatter optical, 4 for backward-scatter optical and 2 for heat — with EN 54-5, 7, 17 and 18 declared on the plate.

The second scatter angle is the whole difference from the S4T-710: the panel receives two optical values from one chamber, forward on channel 1 and backward on channel 4, rather than a single forward value, which is the input a dual-angle device type needs.

This part is silent, so its baffle ring is black. The same O²H block is offered with a tone sounder as the S4T-771-S, with a voice sounder as the S4T-711-V, and with a high-power red strobe as the S4T-711-VAD-HPR.

Compatibility

Takes the S4-700 base, the S4-705 IP21C plate and, where the ceiling detail calls for it, the S4-FLUSH kit. Self-Test needs the Vigilon loop of a Vigilon plus or Compact plus panel on compatible firmware

Installation

Three analogue values will appear against this address once the device type is correct at the panel; if only one optical channel is showing, check the device type before suspecting the head. Gent notes that the reported device type may be wrong where the loop circuit has allocation faults, so clear those first.
