Overview

The S4T-711-V carries speech as well as tone. It is the dual-angle sensing block on four analogue channels — 1 and 4 optical, 2 heat, 5 alarm-device faults — with EN 54-3, 5, 7, 17 and 18 on the plate, and it is the part whose marking shows the Self-Test convention for speech: /VS, not the /V used on the older S-Quad range.

A voice output changes what an evacuation message can say rather than only how loud it is, and it is worth checking that the message set held in the device matches the phased evacuation strategy for the building before the devices are addressed.

Where tone alone is enough, the S4T-771-S is the same sensing block without speech; where a visual alarm is also required, S4T-711-V-VAD-HPR adds a high-power red strobe to this specification.

Specifications from Gent 4188-1130 issue 1 (12/23).

Compatibility

Fits the S4-700 base with the S4-705 IP21C plate. Self-Test needs the Vigilon loop of a Vigilon plus or Compact plus panel on compatible firmware

Installation

Each signal is built as an attention tone followed by the message, with the attention-tone period normally set at 10 seconds and configurable up to 30. Set that period and the volume before the area is handed over, and keep the level at 65 dBA at 1 m or above.
