Overview

The S4-770-S folds an EN 54-3 sounder into the single-optical multisensor head. Three channels appear at the panel: 1 and 2 for sensing, and 5, which exists to report sounder faults upward.

That fifth channel is why a sensor sounder is not merely a detector with a horn attached — the sound path is supervised, and a failed circuit annunciates as a fault against this address rather than surfacing at the next weekly test.

Compatibility

A sounding head must sit on a base carrying an IP21 plate to meet the standards, so order S4-701, or S4-700 with S4-705. Semi-flush fixing is not available for sounding devices. For dual-angle optics in this format, see S4-771-S.

Installation

Volume and tone are chosen at commissioning, not on the device. Level must not fall below 65 dBA at 1 m, and the system refuses zero.
